Privacy Policy
Effective: 2026-05-15 · Last updated: 2026-05-15
This Privacy Policy describes how Poser8 LLC ("we," "us") handles information when you use the AquaWizard mobile application (the "App"). We collect as little as possible. This document tells you exactly what we collect, why, and what your rights are.
1. Who we are
Poser8 LLC is the data controller for personal information processed by the App. You can reach us at privacy@aquawizard.app.
2. What we collect
On your device only (never sent to us):
- Test results and dosing history. The readings AquaWizard derives from test strips, your tub/pool configuration, and the dosing recommendations are stored locally on your device.
- Photos you capture or attach. Test-strip photos and photos of your pool are processed on-device for color reading and stored locally. We do not upload them to our servers.
Sent off-device only when you use a feature that requires it:
- Approximate location — when you enable local weather, your device's coarse location is sent to a weather provider to retrieve temperature, UV, and forecast for your area. We do not store your location on our servers.
- Subscription identifier — if you purchase a subscription, an anonymous user identifier and your purchase receipt are sent to our subscription processor (see §4) to entitle your premium features.
Things we do not collect:
- No name, email, phone, or account is required to use the App.
- No advertising identifiers (IDFA / GAID).
- No analytics SDK, no behavioral tracking, no event telemetry.
- No microphone access. No contacts. No background location.
- No selling of personal information. No use for advertising. No training of AI models on your data.
3. Why each permission is requested
- Camera — to scan pool and hot tub test strips for color reading. Frames are processed on-device.
- Photo library — so you can attach existing photos of your pool to your records.
- Location (when in use) — to retrieve local weather conditions that affect water chemistry. Only used while you have the local weather feature enabled.
4. Service providers
We use a small number of carefully chosen processors. Each receives only the data needed to do its job:
- RevenueCat, Inc. — manages subscription state. Receives an anonymous user identifier and your purchase receipt; does not receive your test data, photos, or location. revenuecat.com/privacy
- Weather provider — when the local weather feature is enabled, an approximate location is sent to retrieve forecast data. We do not transmit who you are alongside the request.
- Apple, Inc. and Google LLC — if you purchase a subscription, the platform processes the payment under its own terms. We never see your payment card.
- Cloudflare, Inc. — serves this website. Receives standard server logs (IP, user agent) for the website only; not the App.
5. Where data is stored
Your test history, dosing history, and photos remain on your device using the operating system's app sandbox. Subscription state is stored by RevenueCat on infrastructure in the United States.
6. How long we keep data
- On-device data persists until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App.
- Subscription records are retained by RevenueCat per their data retention policy.
- Website server logs are kept for up to 30 days.
7. Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you can:
- Access your on-device history at any time from inside the App.
- Delete any record or all records from inside the App (Settings → Data → Reset).
- Revoke camera, photo library, or location permission at any time from your device's system settings; the App will continue to work with reduced functionality.
- Cancel your subscription from your platform's subscription management screen.
For any other request (export, complaint, deletion of subscription records), email privacy@aquawizard.app. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR. If you are in California, you have additional rights under the CCPA / CPRA. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Security
We use TLS for all network traffic and the operating system's app sandbox for on-device data. No system is perfectly secure; if we discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by law.
10. Changes
If we change this policy in a material way, we will update the "Last updated" date and surface a notice in the App on your next launch.
